Exposed Root On Orbit Test System (XROOTS), an aeroponic and hydroponic plant growth system technical demonstration on the International Space Station (ISS)

Technical demonstration of the XROOTS payload integrated with the Veggie Hardware to demonstrate an aeroponic and hydroponic plant growth system in microgravity. The intent was to evaluate a nutrient delivery system using an ebb/flow nutrient solution recovery system. Additionally plants were harvested and returned to Earth for food safety, microbiome and chemistry evaluation.
