GPM AMSU-B on NOAA 16 Common Calibrated Brightness Temperatures L1C 1.5 hours 16 km V08 (GPM_1CNOAA16AMSUB)

Version 08 is the current version of the data set. Older versions will no longer be available and have been superseded by Version 08.

All 1C products have a common L1C data structure, simple and generic. Each L1C swath includes scan time, latitude and longitude, scan status, quality, incidence angle, Sun glint angle, and the intercalibrated brightness temperature (Tc). The radiometer data are recalibrated to a common basis so that precipitation products derived from them are consistent.

1CAMSUB contains common calibrated brightness temperature from the AMSU-B passive microwave instrument flown on the NOAA satellites. Swath S1 is the only swath and has 5 channels (89.0 +/- 0.9 GHz, 150.0 +/- 0.9 GHz, 183.31 +/- 1 GHz, 183.31 +/- 3 GHz, and 183.31 +/- 7 GHz) AMSU-B is very similar to MHS. The scan period is 2.667s. S1 is the only swath, containing observations sampled 90 times along the scan. AMSUB geometric footprints are: 16 km x 16km (89 GHz, 150 GHz, 183 GHz). GPM Project cross-calibrates all channels at spatial sampling: 16x16 km.
